My Mum and Dad for giving me such a loving, balanced and stable upbringing even when things may have been hard for them both. For standing by me and for being proud of their unconventional son. Dad died very suddenly last year and I never got the chance to thank him properly. Take my advice say all those things you want to say now. Don't leave it too late like I did!

My Sister for finally growing up and realising that blood is thicker than water but a lot harder to drink, and for giving me two of the most beautiful neices you will ever see.

Lisa and Zoe - two women who even though they were VERY different were strong influences on me. Both taught me to love and accept people for who they are regardless of what society thinks of them. Both women taught me that true strength lies within and to be true to yourself, whoever that may be.

Karen for being that most elusive of things, a true and loyal friend. Your support, your love, your friendship has seen me through many hard times and knowing that 4 AM shoulder to cry on is always there means I rarely need to use it.
