October 2007
Hi, I have been a bit shite in updating this as much as I should over the last few months but with this mini refurb comes a new focus on this project. The Drag Archive is a small but growing collection of items dedicated to those few but faithful men who have donned frocks and heels and entertained over the years.
Click on the "The Girls" link on the Left, included here are pictures and brief biographies of some of my favourite Drag Artistes/Queens/Female Impersonators through the years. This list is not complete and grows month by month as I track down our foremothers. I urge you to look at some of the lesser known names as some will have been responsible for the careers of those more well known and others will be up and coming girls. Most of the archive pages have their information from the artists own websites or wiki pages but some have sent personalised Biogs eclusive to this site! There are links to these artists own websites where applicable.
If you have any information concerning the work or whereabouts of any Drag Queens PLEASE get in touch. Equally if you know of any who have hung up their stillies forever and either retired or gone to the make-up counter in the sky I'd love to hear from you.
I am especially looking for information on the following:
- Sisters Slim - Rags to Riches - Pink Gin -
If you can help in any way just email me at anna@annaglypta.com
My aim is to eventually create an online memorium to the his and herstory of Drag and those talented, BRAVE people who have come before. |
